A Poetic Fable of Presence and Memory
Kuntur, Guardian of the Heart of the Jungle is the spiritual continuation of Neko and the Heart of the Jungle. The work deepens the symbolic universe from a more contemplative perspective, where guidance emerges from silence, memory becomes an inner fire, and the jungle manifests as a living being that teaches without words.
Through poetic and evocative language, the story invites reflection on serene leadership, inner listening, and the transmission of wisdom through presence.
Main Characters
Kuntur — An elderly feline who guards the inner fire and embodies living memory.
Black Jaguar — A silent presence representing intuition and unspoken truth.
Neko (symbolic memory) — An absence that propels Kuntur’s inner journey.
The Jungle — A living narrative subject that guides, listens, and transforms.
The Inner Fire — A symbol of knowledge that burns in silence.
Summary
After Neko’s departure, Kuntur walks along paths of ash until he reaches a clearing where a fire burns without sound. There he encounters a black jaguar who does not impose answers but awakens a deeper understanding: guiding is not carrying, but remaining.
The encounter activates an ancestral memory. The jungle breathes, listens, and reveals that true teaching is not declared, but transmitted in silence. Kuntur offers no solutions; instead, he opens a space where each being recognizes their own inner heartbeat.
Cultural Context and Worldview
The work is inspired by principles of the Amazonian Shuar worldview, in which nature possesses its own spirit and wisdom. Without recreating traditional narratives, the book pays homage to essential ideas:
- The jungle as a living consciousness
- Memory as spiritual legacy
- Silence as a form of knowledge
- Fire as inner transformation
The symbolic concept of Arútam is reinterpreted as emotional continuity and shared presence. The black jaguar represents the threshold between fear and wisdom, while the inner fire acts as a metaphor for personal awakening.
Narrative Structure
The work is organized into five symbolic acts, each composed of brief scenes that function as narrative rituals:
Act I — Paths of Ash
Act II — The Silent Clearing
Act III — The Encounter with the Jaguar
Act IV — Memory Ignited
Act V — Remaining in Presence
Additional elements included:

- Author’s note

Analysis
Kuntur, Guardian of the Heart of the Jungle expands the symbolic universe initiated in Neko. While the first work focuses on discovery, this second proposes maturity: learning to guide without intervening, teaching without imposing, and accompanying through calm presence.
The text unfolds as prose poetry, where each scene functions as a contemplative space. The narrative privileges emotional atmosphere over action, inviting reflective reading for both young readers and adults.
Don’t Miss It!
This work offers a serene and profound literary experience that invites readers to pause, listen, and discover the strength of silent presence. Ideal for those seeking symbolic narratives with pedagogical and spiritual value.
